Selecting the appropriate investment manager and constructing a well-balanced portfolio can feel like a challenge – but with thorough research and understanding, it doesn't have to be.
At GraySwan, we've spent over 20 years refining our approach to identifying investment managers and funds. Our focus on thorough research and deep market understanding allows us to select the optimal managers and build portfolios that are designed to maximise long-term performance while managing risk. We evaluate over 1,200 segregated investment mandates and have access to more than 50,000 local and offshore unit trusts and exchange-traded funds, giving us the flexibility to select the most suitable options for our clients. Want a quick snapshot? Check out our ScoreCards, powered by our proprietary SWAN (Sleep Well At Night) rating system. We begin our selection process with a stringent screening using the ScoreCards and SWAN ratings, focusing on funds that maintain a minimum 3 SWAN rating across short, medium, and long-term periods. Our priority, however, is always given to funds rated 4 or 5 SWAN. After the initial screening, each fund undergoes qualitative due diligence to ensure it meets our high standards for future performance. These ScoreCards offer a glimpse into our approach, but they represent just part of the story. In total, we conduct over 30 different ScoreCards that examine various investment strategies and asset classes. However, we only publish four of these ScoreCards to the public. Our clients, however, gain access to the full range of our detailed research and analysis, providing them with deeper insights into the managers and funds we believe can deliver superior performance. While past performance isn't a guarantee, it's the foundation we use to identify investment managers who have demonstrated the ability to outpace the market.
